Bangkok trip 12th-15th November

This posted is drafted long ago but didn't get the chance to post so here goes, enjoy reading! & hope it's of some help if any of you guys are planning to go bkk ;) Taiwan's blog post will be up soon, I hope, cause I'll be dedicating most of the time that I left now to my camp prep & friends & my dramas. Proposal & everything to be done by Tuesday wow schedule is really tight man wow

-----------------------

I should really get started on this post before my memory fails me. It would definitely be long as I'm gonna squeeze everything into one hehe

A really impromptu decision to visit Bangkok as my parents' initial plan was to go Batam, Bintan or whatever that starts with 'B' but something cropped up so mummy thought that Bangkok would be a perfect choice since we all wanted to go there badly, or is it me only HAHA, We spent a total of 4 days 3 nights over there and honestly, there were a few times when I thought that the time passes very slow yet and the day seemed long. However, there's also times when I felt it wasn't enough, especially when it comes to shopping. Dad and I did quite a lot of homework for this trip and I was quite upset when the plans for 1 of the days gone wrong. However, overall it was still a pleasant trip :)

Day 1
Planned to attend school for the first 2hours but it would be quite a rush if I were to go so obviously I ended up not going in the end.

^my face looks so round beside my bro's /cries

^FOOD FOOD FOOD something that I was looking forward to at first, but mehhh, the food disappoints me.

^our hotel which was pretty nice :D

^first and only photo I took HAHA my bro took over my job after that :p

As our flight was 1:10 pm, we reached bkk at around 4plus pm singapore time, which was 1 hour faster than Bangkok. After checking in to our hotel, we went to have our dinner at a Thai restaurant in MBK. We were so famished by then because the ride from the airport to the hotel that we were staying at was quite long. But the location of our hotel was good though because it is quite near to the shopping malls that we planned to go.

^how can you not eat the famous mango sticky rice when you are in Bangkok

Pestered my family to give 'After You' a visit since I came across a lot of good reviews on this dessert cafe and it seems like 1 of the must-eat food in bkk. Ordered Shibuya Honey Toast as recommended by many but my family didn't really like it as it is too sweet for their liking so I was the one who ate most of it and I pretty much, got sick of it after a few bites. Probably have to go with someone with sweet tooth so that you could share this dessert with him/her :) so much for my excitement though.

After You
Siam Paragon
Basement

There are quite a lot of outlets in bkk though.

One thing I like about bkk is the bustling and lively streets but at the same time, I was quite frustrated when I was squeezed by the people while shopping.

Street stalls with cheap bargains located near the malls. How amazing, they weren't there when we went in to the malls but they all popped out of nowhere when we stepped out. & I would rather shop in the streets than in shopping malls honestly. No point going to the malls because all they sell are those branded stuffs like what you see in Singapore. Charles & Keith (there's this sandals which caught my eyes and I almost could've got it), Pandora, Calvin Klein, Kate Spade etc. Totally looks like our Ion Orchard and Marina square.

we strong
Day 2
Woke up to this beautiful view

Started our morning by going to Pratunam market and Platinum mall. Platinum mall is said to be the biggest fashion mall in Thailand and I couldn't agree any further with it. If I'm not wrong, there's 7 floors and most of the floors sell women's apparels. I didn't really buy anything from there because it gives me the 'bugis street feel' and the clothes there are not for trying so to play safe, I rather not buy.

 ^streetside tuktuks
I personally feel that it is not worth it to take more than once because it was really annoying as they tried to scam us by quoting ridiculously high prices for a short journey. My dad would usually haggle the prices or even pretending to walk away but sometimes it doesn't works HAHA but because we changed too much money and that's why we can afford to waste money on tuktuks.

^we actually bought a package for this boat ride but I think we got scammed HAHA it's ok we can go on our own too

Wat Arun aka Temple of the Dawn
We were supposed to visit this in the evening as it is especially stunning at sunset, particularly when lit up at night. We actually saw people climbing up to the highest point and the steps are really steep so it is definitely not an easy task climbing up and getting down.

^papa why you never look at camera :(

The weather on that day was so hot that I literally felt like taking off my clothes even though I was already wearing a sleeveless romper. Within those 4 days we really consumed a lot of cold drinks, thanks to the weather man, for making us so unhealthy. :(

Asiatique has a really nice decorations man.

Day 3
Started my day by giving this place a visit! This is also 1 of the reviews that I came across to. It has a really nice ambience and decorations. I forgot where was this btw, was it mbk or central world, but ya there's alot of outlets in bkk too.

Visited Chinatown after eating and I was so worn out that I slept throughout the ride. Honestly we were all drained by the 2nd day because of walking too much

It is pretty much similar to Singapore's Chinatown and it sells a lot of local products. Chinatown has also the best bird nest so we had a bowl of it when we were there and it tastes really good! Cooling tonic under the hot sun, what else can I ask for. After that we left to Pratunam market to shop again because our parents knew that we were bored from all the walking. Basically it doesn't interests us at all. In the evening, we took the train down to Chatuchak Market because we are leaving in the afternoon the next day and Chatuchak is only open in the weekends. Such a pity isn't it. So we decided to try our luck and see if there's any shop that's open. Fortunately, some of the shops were opened and we were happy that we managed to get something from there.

Day 4
Woke up early to head down to Chatuchak Market again. Massive shopping hehehe most of my loots were from Chatuchak though so I guess I'll be back again next time, just for Chatuchak. The place is seriously big so we didn't get to walk finish but it's ok too!

^good thing about being early is you don't have to worry that you'll get squeeze by the crowd because when we left in the afternoon, the whole road was filled with people and it was really suffocating to me lol

^& the famous coconot ice-cream omg heaven pls *___*

 ^frozen banana with rainbow sprinkles

^like father like daughter huh hahaha

^last meal of the day before we fly back :(

Came back to a rainy Singapore and I was freezing badly at the airport. Oh and not to mention, I shall not wear suspenders anymore because I accidentally dropped it into the toilet bowl while I was un-stripping lol don't get me wrong, it's only the 'hook' part or whatever you call that. & previously my brother dropped my sleeping shorts in the hotel toilet too, how unlucky can I get man

Late dinner! Was so famished and tired by then. Oh I miss bkk so much now, especially shopping. But I don't miss the crowd though. That's it. I can't wait for my next getaway next year during my long break!!! :D But it means that I've to take my final year exam and prepare for year 2 oh god
